There are shorelines
of ice
still grasping the edges of the roadways
with cinders under their fingernails.
I drive by them,
these waves shriveled in time,
catching too much of
the effort to stay afloat
in their wake.
I miss the seafoam that kissed the grass
and glowed beneath the sun,
but beneath the murky remnants
crocus corals are blooming.

Well guys, I've decided, for the first time ever, to try NaPoWriMo! I've been a little dry in the world of creativity lately, whether due to busyness or sleepiness or just laziness. I figured that if I try to find some inspiration each day, then perhaps the words will start flowing again. So today I found inspiration in a sagging snow bank on the way home.
